The plans
in 2023, we completed the construction of two additional courts on the west side of our facility. Our plan is to extend the hut and add significant decking to enable viewing of Courts 7 and 8 and to provide additional space for our members to gather and socialize.
There are two phases to this expansion:
Phase 1, the construction of the courts 7 and 8, was completed in summer 2023. WPTC raised 100% of the funds necessary to construct these two courts and donated them to the Winnetka Park District. Total cost exceeded $450,000.
Phase 2 will be expansion of the hut and the construction of the decking and grill area with a proposed firepit. Final designs and fundraising for the hut expansion are currently under way.
Member and architect John Swierk has developed a Master Plan for our new platform tennis complex at Winnetka.
